In our popular flying field, people with interest will come to me and ask me, "What is the best RC Helicopter?". This is not a straight forward answer, "Just get a combo kit from that company" kind of answer. I would usually request for more information before putting across an answer.
Where are you today? Are you starting from scratch? Are you looking at coaxial, fixed pitch or collective pitch helicopter? Are you looking forward to the day where you perform hard 3D smack like those in youtube? Or you are just want to do some kind of light 3D?

The best RC helicopter for you might not be the most expensive. If you are still polishing your flying skills, it might be better to get a mid budget combo kit, and abundant parts for repairs. If you are a accomplished pilot, it would make you more outstanding to fly a unique helicopter at the flying field.
Regardless of the rc helicopter kit that you have selected, it always paid a peace of mind to have good electronics (servos, esc, motor, battery etc) in your helicopter. If you are new to helicopter assembly, it always good to approach the flyers at the field for their opinion. Nevertheless, each of us who devoted to this hobby has came by this path, and they are always ready to help the people.
